Sit in the bar area, smoke a cigarette, enjoy the bay view and wait for your food in a relaxed fashion. The setting is excellent and comfortable.

The food is always the best and freshest. You pay for it but you get what you pay for. The quantity is sufficient for most and if you want more, go there on a Friday night for the seafood feast.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Usually we have the Captain's Plater that consists of an assortment of tasty sea food. However, we found out the deep fat fried version of this dish is far superior to the sautéed version. The service is always good

We took a chance on a new spot in the Coos Bay area and went to Portside. We wondered for a moment if it was a good choice, however when the food arrived we found ourselves patting ourselves on the back for a good choice. Fish and chips were perfectly cooked, not heavy on oil and tasted very fresh. The fresh oysters were amazing in taste and their generous size. Service was friendly, view was beautiful and cost was very reasonable. We are going back.

Chef Alex lovely meals and my favorite is your crab and shrimp seafood salad with yummie creamy cucumber dressing. Very little waiting, children ok, lovely view of the water and great lounge. My hat goes off to all of you at the Portside and special thanks to for supporting the Miss Coos County Scholarship Program for the past 25+ years. Thank you for your support and help from all of us on the Miss Coos County Board, we couldn't look so good it it wasn't for the community's help

We felt like the luckiest people ever to have found this place. It was late on a Wed and they could have easily said they were closed. Instead Rene invited us in and served us cold beers, fried crab legs (ORDER THESE), a fabulous ceasar salad and a killer prawn and scallop pasta that we shared. The warmth is palpable here. Anyone rating this below 5 stars just doesn't get it. It's not fancy, but very well maintained, clean and most importantly they serve bangin food with heart.

Restaurant was easy to find, had a nice view and the service was very good. I had the grilled shrimp and scallops and the were excellent. We were surprised as how many sides came with the price of the meal. Prices are reasonable. Good value for the money.

We were concerned after reading some of the reviews - but the service and food we had was good and they were very accommodating to my vegetarian diet making sautéed vegetables and steamed rice for me.

We entered and found an amazing relaxing evening. My son had a steak and my husband had steak and shrimp. I ordered then stuffed crab...-alllll super amazin. I love everything about this place.. Including the house merlot!

The bread served before we even ordered. The drinks were refilled often and the music put sweet smiles on our weary traveled faces..all in all a wonderful time.

My husband and I met some friends for lunch at the restaurant. They have been going there for years. I was a little nervous about the food since some of the reviews were tepid, but instead it was a delicious lunch! The fish was fresh and hot, cooked perfectly and the staff was ultra friendly. I would definitely return for dinner in the future.

Sushi Garden

As an extension of Portside, Sushi Garden is epic! John & Minnie's service feels is next to family. The sushi is always fresh product, great tasting, along with diversity, & the best presentation.
