ACCAP Head Start, located in Coon Rapids, Minn., is a part of the Anoka County Community Action Program. The program includes providing emergency food assistance, commodity supplemental food, low-income weatherization and crisis prevention services. It specializes in offering services, such as care management, assistive technology loans and earned income tax credit services. It also offers services that include long-term medical and adult day care, congregate meals, family caregiver support, and elder and substance abuse counseling. The center organizes the Early Head Start program for low-income families, infants and pregnant women. It additionally offers preschool and after-school care, transportation, medical and health care and also organizes athletic and extracurricular events.
