We stay at the Shady Pines Resort every year and find the owners Steve and Deena to be very hospitable. We rent a cabin and go with friends who have RV's. The cabins are completely furnished and priced fairly in my opinion. We reserve spaces nearly a year in advance because this spot is so popular! 2010 was the best year for fishing we have ever seen there!

Do yourself a favor and pitch a tent somewhere before you arrange to stay here. We arranged months in advance for a weeks stay at Shady Pines. And we drove 5 hours to get there, only to find out that they didn't have a reservation for us!! And even after we showed them confirmation with our credit card, their response was "...it's not our problem. If you had made the reservation we would have it." They offered no apology, and left us with the impossible task of finding another place to stay (which, in the summer, everyone is booked up solid) or calling off our vacation and driving another 5 hours to go home. There's no excuse for the way we were treated, as we made the reservation in good faith and got NOTHING in return. "Buyer beware" as they say, because these people DON'T care.
