- Dental CareRenovations on our facility were completed in October of 2012. This beautiful brick building was previously a fire station in the village of Commerce, MI. We have transformed the stunning building into a modern veterinary hospital while maintaining an atmosphere of a cozy home. Commerce Village Veterinary Hospital features a modern surgical suite, dental treatment area, advanced digital radiology & ultrasound room, and an intensive care room. We also have separate housing for our feline & canine patients to keep them comfortable.
- VaccinationVaccinations for your pet are important when implementing a preventative and pro-active approach to ensuring your pet's health status and quality of life. Our vaccine protocols and recommendations are based on your individual pet’s age, life style and risk of disease from their environment. The frequency of immunizations will depend on a variety of factors including the animal's age, vaccination history and the duration of protection of the vaccine.
- Behavioral CounselingDr. Andrea Putt has been offering behavior consultations for dogs and cats for many years. She has extensive continuing education and experience in this area, including North American Veterinary Conference education courses.
- Nutritional CounselingAnimal Rehabilitation is a relatively new to veterinary medicine. Therapy can be used for many types of disease processes as well as weight loss or general fitness and conditioning.
- Comprehensive ExaminationFor example, if you do a search for “why is my dog for vomiting” or “why does my cat have diarrhea,” you may find hundreds of reasons why your pet could have these symptoms and even choose one that you believe to be the cause. But, if your pet does not receive a thorough physical exam from a skilled veterinarian, and possibly diagnostic tests, it may be hard to know exactly what your pet’s problem is.
- Parasites Treatment and Control
- Pain ManagementA comprehensive pain management solution is important in order to ensure your pet has the best possible experience with us. Regardless of the type of treatment or nature of pain involved, Dr. Andrea Putt and the Commerce Village Veterinary Hospital offer a range of options to help alleviate your pet’s pain in any situation with the greatest emphasis on safety and compassion.

- Diarrhea Treatment
- Skin Condition and Allergy TreatmentSkin scrapings, fungal tests, skin cytologies and skin biopsies – to help evaluate causes of skin problems for malodorous, itchy or crusting skin problems.
- Upper Respiratory Illness TreatmentUp to 60 percent of all adult dogs are either overweight or are likely to get that way due to their age or activity level. Obesity in dogs and cats is just as big of a problem for them as it is for humans. Obesity is associated with heart and respiratory problems, diabetes, skeletal stress, and gastrointestinal disorders in pets.
- Leptospirosis TreatmentTypically, mature dogs will be protected against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvo virus, kennel cough and, of course, rabies.
- Arthritis Treatment
- Thyroid Disease Treatment
- Dental Surgery
- Veterinary SurgeryFactor #2: You should also make sure that your veterinarian is placing an iv catheter and giving iv fluids during even routine surgery procedures. It is important to have an iv catheter in place so that if an emergency should arise it can be used to help support the animal as it can be hard to find a blood vessel and place a catheter in an arresting animal whose heart may have stopped beating. The iv fluids can also help keep blood pressure stable during surgery and they can help replace fluids lost during and after surgery. You need to ask if this is included in your estimate for surgery.
