      About Dr. Mechanic Alan Mechanic, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon who specializes in spinal surgery, brain tumors and trigeminal neuralgia. His professional interests include the surgical treatment of herniated lumbar and cervical discs, spinal stenosis, trigeminal neuralgia and brain tumors including gliomas, meningiomas and pituitary tumors. After 18 years as chief of Neurosurgery at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, Long Island, Dr. Mechanic stepped down last January 2015.
