Master clock repair is awesome. They so kindly and expertly assisted my 90-year-old parents with their 1950s cuckoo clock and brought them great joy in the meantime. Such a nice people and so very good at what they do. You can’t do better than master clock repair.

We inherited my in-laws 47 year old grandmother clock that had not been running for approximately 12 years after their passing. Reached out to Michael via his website for setting up a "house call". Received a follow up call that day to discuss in detail what the circumstances were and determined that in all likelihood could be addressed on-site. They scheduled within a week and gave me a courtesy call when enroute. Michael assessed the issue and confirmed it could be repaired in my home and completed the job in about an hour. Not only was the clock brought back to life, but I was given a thorough explanation and shown what the problem was. He gave me a history of the clock itself and how to maintain its operation. There were several things about the clock that I was completely unaware of regarding its operation and how to best keep it running. He is without a doubt the most knowledgeable person I have encountered when it comes to clock work. He was on-time, professional and very conscientious. It is good to know that there are still "master craftsman" out there they take such pride in a job well done. Would only recommend him to others without hesitation.

I called Mike to ask if he would be able to service my Howard Miller Chaplin tripod grandfather clock. It needed internal repairs as well as cosmetic repairs. I took it in to Mike’s shop and he called Howard Miller to get the necessary replacement parts and worked to restore it to its original beauty. He delivered it to us and spent as much time as needed to teach us the correct way to operate the clock. So glad we contacted him first.

Mike showed up on time and moved my grandfather clock from one location to another and "tuned" up the clock. The clock works perfectly and keeps exact time. One year later and my tall case clock (1720-1760’s) is keeping extremely accurate time. It stared running as soon as I leveled it and hasn’t stopped once. Mr. Gainey did a complete restoration and I couldn’t be more pleased with his work. Everyone should use his services wherever practical.

While on an exchange tour in Ottawa Canada in 1993, I bought my wife a Jauch wall clock for our anniversary. Considering all of the change of duty stations and moving we did during our time in the US Navy, this clock worked well for the first 22 years. In the last few years we had to have the clock repaired three times by shops near Dayton, Ohio. However, none of the repairs were long term fixes and all three of these shops are no longer in business.

I searched on-line and found that Master Clock Repair came highly recommended. I was not disappointed. Michael explained our options to repair the clock in detail and there were no surprises. Seriously, I also enjoyed hearing the technical and historical background pertaining to my clock and some of the others in the shop. The quality of his work was outstanding and pricing was reasonable.

My only mistake was bringing my wife to pick up our repaired clock. As a result, we are now the proud owners of a 1920s mechanical office clock. Didn’t see that one coming.

Michael did an absolutely awesome job. He took a 170 year old clock that the movers had broken into 50 pieces and completely rebuilt it. It looks like it did before the move and works even better. I would recommend him to anyone. An amazing craftsman.

I am very happy with the service provided by Master Clock Repair.  Mike came out and introduced himself. The clock is 26 years old.  He explained, in great detail, the condition of the clock.  Which was pretty bad.  The gears had lots of rust and the chimes were pretty rough too.  He dove into the issues and oiled the gears and got them moving.  When I heard the chimes on their own I had to hold back my emotions as I had not heard those tones in years. 





Unfortunately I don't have much time with the clock due to it's age and many other companies would have declared it dead.  Mike worked on it and didn't give up.  It's running and sounding great.  



I called several other companies and they were outrageously priced.  All they wanted to do was replace the movement.   Mike has a true passion for clocks and it shows.  





When it comes time for me to replace the movement, I will be calling Master Clock Repair and giving my business to Mike!

Michael did an amazing job. His knowledge and expertise are unsurpassed as is his professionalism. He makes house calls, too, which is the best! He fixed five clocks in several hours for a very reasonable price and diagnosed a sixth, which is now scheduled to go to his workshop for major repairs. I have a beautiful Herschede Grandfather clock my Grandmother bought the year I was born. When it no longer ran Michael at Master Clock Repair restored the works perfectly. He is truly a master at clock repair. The clock not only keeps time perfectly but the chimes bring back many memories of my Grandmother.

I searched for several years looking for someone I felt was qualified to fix the chime tower on my antique open pendulum clock, and finally settled on Master Clock repair. Since this is a one of a kind clock with irreplaceable parts I was on pins and needles shipping the entire chime block and mount away to Columbus. Michael was able to replace the broken rod perfectly and return it in very quick fashion. Good job!

Michael (and son) are wonderful! I took in a mantel clock my father's aunt had given him in the mid 1960's. My father said it never worked as he knew it as a child and it never worked as I was growing up (possibly because I used it as a play-thing). The clock was given to me by my father and I wanted to make sure he was able to see it/hear it at some point. Found Master Clock Repair after doing many searches and looking at reviews. The clock was in bad shape, dirty, innards broken, etc. Michael's son told me it would take approximately nine months to fix (due to their schedule). I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call several weeks ago with the clock being completely repaired more than three months early! Michael noted it still did not sound great but that he might be able to find new chimes. I told him I did not care about the cost. Michael called me later that day to say he found one, installed it, and it sounded great. Not only was the clock restored to like-new condition, it works, keeps great time, and came in costing less than I had initially anticipated! Great work; great service; great communication; great price. And now I have a new family heirloom thanks to Michael and son! Absolutely would recommend!

I bought a very cool Grandfather clock at a garage sale that was in a few pieces and we had a Granddaughter clock that had been in our family for years and never ran. Michael was promptly at my house when he said he would be there, got right to work and within 2 hours I had two beautifully noisy clocks running! For the bigger clock it took a couple of weeks to get it adjusted properly, so be patient, it will be worth it.
