Founded in 1982, Duxberry Park Arts IMPACT Alternative Elementary School provides learning opportunities to students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers an interdisciplinary model program in visual arts for children, parents and teachers. Duxberry Park Arts IMPACT Alternative Elementary School has a full-time arts team composed of certified teachers in music, dance and drama. Its basic curriculum includes several subjects, such as reading, math, English, science, social studies and physical education. Duxberry Park Arts IMPACT Alternative Elementary School has an active parent-teacher organization that supports its Artist-in-Schools residence program and assists student clubs and various school functions. In addition, its clubs include chess program, Girl Scouts, computer graphics, school newspaper, tap dance and ballet and lunchtime science. The school is a part of Columbus City Schools.
