First United Methodist Church, founded in 1823, is one of the oldest church organizations in the United States. The church organizes recreation activities for its members, such as train rides, balloon pop, face painting, sack races, scrabble, basketball and softball game, and campground Bible. It has various ministries for children, youth and adult and offers services, including, Sunday school classes, Bible reading, the university of life studies that include theological study, spiritual formation and worship, and personal counseling, Mother s Day out program and video sermons. It also offers preschool and nursery for children. In addition, it provides luncheons, dinners, seasonal picnics, fellowship night activities and suppers, Christmas workshops and winter retreats. First United Methodist Church is located in Columbus, Miss.
