- Physicians General Practitioners Immunizations Once a year, we should see your pet for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam and a custom vaccination plan. Dr. Kerry Blanton will check the health of your pet from head to tail. Further care recommendations will be given during this examination. Recommendations may include bi-annual examinations and annual blood work for senior pets, dental care, or a special diet. At Animal Clinic of Columbus, we are happy to answer any health care questions you may have about your pets, so please be sure to ask if you have concerns! Arthritis Weight Management We supply Hills Science and Prescription Diet to provide for your pet’s specific dietary needs. From weight loss to disease management to health maintenance, we can select the diet that is best for your pet. Is your pet a little portly of late? If so, we have a weight loss program that includes calculating an ideal weight for your pet as well as a detailed feeding plan to get them back on track! Nutritional Counseling Emergency Care We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency. Electrocardiogram We strive to provide the safest available anesthetics to our patients. Each protocol is tailored specifically to your pets’ needs, which is especially important in geriatric and high risk patients. We now offer pediatric spays and neuters using cutting edge anesthetics. Our anesthetic protocols begin with pre-surgical bloodwork to assist us in developing a custom anesthetic protocol. Our facility is equipped with a brand new anesthesia machine and brand new monitoring equipment to track heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, EKG, and blood pressure during surgery and recovery. Our radiographs are digitally recorded and can be burned to a CD for client viewing at home or emailed to a referral center. Digital radiographs offer the advantage of enhanced viewing allowing minute details to be seen more readily than traditional radiographs.
