- Divorce
- Child SupportWhen trying to define the meaning of “domestic relations” or “family law,” there is not a single definition that can apply, and the meaning will apply differently to each and every person. Domestic or family law cases typically involve issues of divorce, paternity, child support, child custody, third party custody, maintenance, division of marital assets, division of marital debts, division of a marital estate, economic issues, emancipation etc. Family law also involves prenuptial agreements, civil protection orders, post-secondary education expenses, legal separation, contempt proceedings, and settlement negotiations. This list is non-exhaustive and goes on and on. While more commonly defined as “probate,” issues of adoption and guardianship can also be described as family law.

- Wrongful DeathPrior to joining Beck, Rocker & Habig, Eric was a partner in the largest transportation law firm in the United States. He defended trucking, logistics and warehousing companies in large loss negligence and wrongful death lawsuits throughout the country. And Eric was regularly called upon to protect companies from direct financial exposure. This high-stakes work was invaluable in shaping his legal skills and tenacious approach to cases. Eric learned how to defend cases at the highest level, and had a lot of success. But, his heart was always with those who were injured. In 2017, Eric followed his passion for helping people who are facing the immense challenges posed by serious injuries and death when he joined Beck, Rocker & Habig. He is now using the irreplaceable knowledge gained in his first 18 years of practice to help those who have been wronged. Eric’s unmatched experience uniquely qualifies him to represent you and your family when someone else’s negligence has resulted in serious injury or death. He is aggressive. He is skilled. And Eric guarantees the direct communication and responsiveness you want, need and deserve in your personal injury lawyer.
- MurderJustin was born January 29, 1981, in Indianapolis, Indiana, but grew up in Columbus, Indiana, with an attorney for a father who failed to warn him away from the practice of law. He attended Wilmington College (Ohio), where he was an Academic All-American swimmer who made the mistake of majoring in Political Science, which has absolutely no practical applications whatsoever. After a year of working on the Social Ecology of Murder in Indiana for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute as a research assistant, he quickly discovered that living at home, making very little money, researching the death penalty, and commuting to Indianapolis was fairly unpleasant as a 23-year old.
- Corporate LawJeff Beck joined the firm in 1997. Despite being a self-described "utility infielder", Jeff has strived to limit his practice to civil litigation, real estate and corporate law. His willingness to "outwork the competition" bolstered the firm's injury practice as well, securing the largest injury verdict in the history of Bartholomew County.

- Business Disputes"Jeff Rocker - Excellent Attorney in Columbus, IN - Jeff Rocker has assisted my family on issues and I have had the pleasure to work with him through my company. He was extremely knowledgable in business law and explains it to his clients in easy to understand language. He has a solid reputation with the personnel in the courthouse and city hall. Not only does he have extensive knowledge in family and business law, but he has a "down to earth" personality that truly shines through. Often times people are afraid of attorneys or relunctant to seek advice from one, but Jeff Rocker makes you feel at ease the minute you meet him. He truly wants to help people and represent them in the best light he can."

- Workers CompensationA versatile lawyer, Laura will continue to work primarily in the areas of family law, workers compensation, and personal injury. She will also continue to serve as defense counsel for the Bartholomew County Veterans Treatment Court, a position she feels very strongly about.

- Real Estate LitigationJeff concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate law and advising businesses on everything from start-up to sale and all matters in between, including employment law. He is regularly called on to answer the question, "Can I fire this jerk employee of mine?" to which he normally responds, "Heck yeah!" He is a veteran of many epic small claims battles such as the case of the Stud Poodle. In that case, Mr. Beck skillfully recovered $400 (plus court costs!) for the Plaintiff who had paid Defendant $400 for Defendant's poodle to impregnate Plaintiff's very attractive blonde poodle. Unfortunately, Stud Poodle was not up the challenge.
- Real Estate TransactionsEventually, the founder of EnviroForensics decided that it was unlikely, but possible, that Justin’s talents would be better used if he actually took the bar and started practicing. To absolutely no-one’s surprise, it is both significantly cheaper and more convenient to have an in-house attorney rather than trying to reach one who is golfing by 3 pm on Friday. Justin built his practice dealing with a wide spectrum of the law, but most often with the interplay of environmental cleanup and commercial general liability insurance. Over the approximately ten years as General Counsel, Justin dealt with many complex corporate transactions, issues with labor and employment, real estate purchases, a few angry City Engineers, and one 2 a.m. Sunday morning call from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department that some drunk guy had plowed a truck into a client’s (fortunately vacant) building at 40 miles-an-hour and his was the only number they had.

- Personal InjuryWe will never guarantee how a personal injury case will play out as the countless variables and uncertainties simply do not allow it – and you should run from any attorney who makes any such promises. However, Eric will guarantee one of the most critical things he can control during your case – communication! He will meet, speak and correspond with you directly from the beginning of the case to the end. And he will keep you regularly updated as your case proceeds. Eric will personally address any questions or concerns you may have as quickly as possible. He has learned from his clients over the years that direct and regular communication with the attorney is one of the most sought after, yet rarely provided, services needed and wanted in personal injury cases.
- Medical MalpracticeJeff refers to the first half of his career as the “utility infielder” days. During that time, he litigated criminal, domestic, personal injury, medical malpractice, environmental, business and real estate disputes while also working with business startups, advising businesses, and handling large mergers and acquisitions. Jeff uses this broad legal background and courtroom experience to help clients find answers and avenues for achieving their goals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Though there is some truth to the old adage that nobody wins in litigation except the attorneys, sometimes litigation is necessary. When it is necessary, Jeff has the skills, and more importantly the experience of many courtroom battles, to confidently and professionally lead his clients through the process.

It’s scary to him, but he’s finding that he’s starting to like their music.
- WillsJeff Rocker and his team were great at helping me set up a complex estate planning strategy. Revocable trust fund, last will and some business ownership structures. He was crystal clear when explaining all the options as well as the pros and cons associated with them. He and his team were also very fast in setting this up - I was the bottleneck in getting all the information to them. Jeff was recommended to me by other Indiana lawyers that do their estate planning with Jeff Rocker
