Located in Columbus, Ga., Fort Middle School is an educational institution that enrolls more than 500 students. It employs a staff of over 50 teachers and paraprofessionals who conduct classes in language arts, social studies, science, math and English. The school teaches children in grades six through eight and provides basic learning sessions in music, physical education, technology and computer literacy. It also offers several sports activities, including basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, and track and field. In addition, Fort Middle School organizes science fairs, educational field trips, award ceremonies and National History Day competitions. The school is a part of the Muscogee County School District, which owns and operates various elementary, middle and high schools.
