The East Columbus Magnet Academy is a learning center that is governed by the Muscogee County School District, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. Located in Columbus, Ga., the school educates more than 750 students in grades six through eight. It provides education in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school conducts Title 1 and business education classes. The East Columbus Magnet Academy supports a range of sports activities, including volleyball, football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, and track and field. The school operates student organizations, such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and academic bowl, civics and chess clubs. In addition, The East Columbus Magnet Academy operates a parent-teacher-student association that raises funds to support educational equipment purchases.
