- Pediatric CarePalmetto Pediatrics Downtown is open Saturday and Sunday mornings for emergency sick visits. We encourage you to call us should your child become ill to ensure continuity of care is established. Our offices are equipped to assist you for most illnesses/injuries. In addition, since we have access to your child’s chart, our physicians are able to offer comprehensive care.
- Primary CareDuring a visit with our certified asthma educator, you and your child will be asked to answer detailed questions so we can best assess the severity of your child's asthma. When indicated pulmonary function testing will be completed which will also give us an indication of how your child's asthma is managed. Your child’s symptoms, triggers, and limitations will all be discussed. Based on this information, a customized asthma action plan will be developed for use at home and at school. You and your child will be given detailed information about the appropriate use of asthma medications and delivery devices as part of that plan. Your child will receive age-appropriate teaching about asthma, and taught self-management skills. Our educator will also work closely with your child’s primary care physician to monitor your child’s progress during follow-up visits.
- ImmunizationsDuring your recent visit, our physician/staff expressed the standard care as it relates to immunizations. We took away from this conversation that you do not wish to immunize your child(ren).
