Founded in 1839, the University of Missouri is one of the leading educational institutes and public research universities in Columbia, Mo. With recognition in teaching and research, it is the flagship campus of the four-campus University of Missouri System. The University offers more than 286 degree programs, which include 40 online degree options. More than 30,000 students from every county in Missouri and all over the world enroll for admissions. The various schools and colleges that fall under the university are the School of Natural Resources, College of Arts and Science, School of Music and Trulaske College of Business among others. Some of its degree programs include journalism, medicine, law, dispute resolution, and family and community medicine. The University of Missouri s library collection is one of the largest in the state, with approximately 3.5 million volumes and 46,543 journal subscriptions. It is a member of the Association of American Universities.
