General Info

The Burn Institute-Inland Empire (BI-IE) is an affiliate of the Burn Institute, based in San Diego. Since 2002, the BI-IE has sought to re-create the successful programs and services of the Burn Institute – one of the largest and most-effective fire and burn prevention and burn survivor support agencies in the United States. Founded in 1972, one of the Institute’s first accomplishments was to help establish the UCSD Regional Burn Center. Today, the organization continues to provide support to the Burn Center, and serve the communities of San Diego and Imperial counties with fire and burn prevention education, burn survivor support and the funding of burn research and treatment. Together, the BI-IE and the Burn Institute reach communities in four most southern California counties, including the largest county in the contiguous United States (San Bernardino).
