- Dental CareA pet's dental health is just as important as their physical health, however, it often goes overlooked. The reality is that oral hygiene plays a huge part in ensuring your pet lives a long, healthy life.
- VaccinationDuring their first year, your kitten or puppy will require regular visits with their veterinarian. These visits are comprised of physical exams, vaccinations, and diagnostic testing – all of which allow us to keep tabs on your pet’s health as they grow and develop.
- Veterinary OphthalmologyExams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues, and allergies.
- Behavioral Counseling
- Comprehensive ExaminationFountain Valley Animal Hospital offers preventive care and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. Bringing your pet to one of our veterinarians for a physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep them healthy.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlDiagnostic testing to identify any health conditions that cannot be detected during a physical exam and to confirm your cat is free from internal parasites
- Behavioral Disorder TreatmentVaccines based on your cat’s lifestyle or breed. Core vaccines include rabies and feline distemper, although your veterinarian may recommend additional vaccines like feline leukemia (FeLV)
- Pain ManagementFollowing surgery, your pet will be kept comfortable and monitored while the effects of anesthesia wear off. Wanting to rest for the remainder of the day is normal, but if you’re concerned about your pet’s post-op behavior, please don’t hesitate to call us at (719) 392-4213.
- Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
- Leptospirosis Treatment- Core vaccines include rabies, distemper, and Leptospirosis, although your veterinarian may recommend additional vaccines like canine influenza, and Bordetella
- Feline Retro Virus TreatmentBoth puppies and kittens should have certain diagnostic tests over the course of their first year. Puppies should be tested for heartworm by 12 months of age, if not before. Kittens, on the other hand, should be tested for feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) during their first exam.

- Arthritis TreatmentPennHIP is a multifaceted radiographic screening method for evaluating and assessing the quality of a canine's hips as well as whether a dog is susceptible to hip dysplasia. This method of evaluation is also able to accurately predict the onset of canine osteoarthritis (OA). Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease (DJD), is the hallmark of hip dysplasia.
- Hip Dysplasia TreatmentCanine hip dysplasia (CHD) is a common problem in large breed dogs, such as the Akita, German Shepherd, Labrador and Golden Retrievers, and the Rottweiler. Evaluations are essential for breeding animals and service dogs to help reduce the incidence of hip dysplasia, to assure hip joint soundness, and to help diagnose the potential for hip dysplasia.
- Knee Problems TreatmentThough orthopedic surgery is most commonly used to treat fractured bones, it can also be used to treat congenital defects such as elbow dysplasia and patellar luxation. Joint replacement, such as total knee replacement, is also considered an orthopedic surgery.

- Spaying and NeuteringSpaying and neutering help pets live long, healthy lives. Having pets sterilized while they’re young reduces their likelihood of developing certain infections and cancers. Plus, it combats overpopulation which, sadly, leads to the euthanasia of pets who cannot be placed in good homes.
