I have used Avis for many years at various locations throughout the country, but have never had an occasion to rent a vehicle close to home. I recently reserved a specialty vehicle online for pick up the following morning at the Collinsville location. The location Agency Operator, Dallas Ligon, contacted me early on the morning of the proposed pick-up date to explain that they did not have that particular vehicle on the lot and that a two-day window is typically required. This was certainly not his fault, as I made the reservation online. I surmise that this communication glitch was most certainly a failure within the Avis online reservation system. Dallas made many phone calls on my behalf and called me back; informing me that he could have the vehicle there in several hours. Because the vehicle was not available in the morning as anticipated, I would not have a ride to the Collinsville location until the evening. Dallas offered to pick me up so that I may have the vehicle sooner. Because I had a very small window of opportunity to complete my objective with the rental vehicle, I am grateful for the exemplary service and the fact that Dallas went above and beyond to assist. My experience with the Collinsville, Illinois Avis location not only met my expectations, but also greatly exceeded them. Thank you.

The experience was horrible! The owner Dallas tries to give you the highest priced rate that he can. He rented me a vehicle that needed an oil change knowing very well that I was taking a 14hr trip. I had to exchange the vehicle out once I arrived to my destination. Prior to returning the vehicle I called the office many times and never got an answer. I returned the vehicle 45 minutes late and Dallas the owner charged me an additional 50.00. I will never do business at that location again. This business does not deserve any stars at all.
