The Laboratory for Physical Sciences is located in College Park, Md. The organization is adjacent to the University of Maryland s College Park campus. The Laboratory for Physical Sciences is a facility where university and federal government personnel collaborate on research in advanced communication and computer technologies. Faculty and students from the University of Maryland College Park Departments of Physics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Materials and Nuclear Engineering all conduct research in the organization s laboratories. The Laboratory for Physical Sciences research areas include quantum computing, microelectronics research, photonics and optoelectronics, nanostructures, magnetics, thermal management, fiber optics and molecular beam epitaxy.
