General Info
Everson's Jewelry is a third generation family business, begun by Ken Everson a young watchmaker who returned to his hometown, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho following WWII. He opened his first shop in 1946 with one small showcase of watches and rings and the motto "If you don't know your jewelry, know your jeweler." The business prospered under his skilled craftsmanship. Ken became renowned in the community for both his honesty and his generosity. In the early days a handshake frequently sealed a sale's agreement. Once Ken left a Christmas Eve dinner to reopen his shop in response to the phone call from a panicked young fellow who had forgotten, in all his excitement, to pick up the diamond engagement ring he intended to offer in a marriage proposal to his girlfriend that evening.Over the years, fourteen other family members have worked at the jewelry store including Ken's brother, wife, sister-in-law, sons, daughters-in-law and grandsons. It has grown from a small boutique on 4th Street to a large, elegant shop on Sherman Avenue, the main street in downtown Coeur d'Alene. It has expanded its ring and watch sales and repair to include a complete selection of jewelry items, wedding sets, custom-designed pieces, clocks, seasonal gifts, Idaho garnets and opals, and other regional items. The store's department of engraved awards, trophies, plaques, and engraveable gifts has grown such that it is a business of its own called EJ Awards.Although much has changed since the 1940's, the family remains committed to the founding principles of trust, integrity, and service. We are proud to offer beautiful and unique jewelry at affordable prices.
