The American dream began when our President and Founder, Ralph Wismer, started the company in January of 1982 with an investment of $1, 000. Ralph traded his motorcycle for a truck and purchased a typewriter. He ran his new business out of his apartment and garage. Later he rented storage space from an old swim club as a warehouse and shop. The company moved to its current location in 1986. In April of 1995, Zenmar expanded its combined office and warehouse facility to over 15, 000 square feet. In December of 2008, Zenmar renovated the warehouse and shop areas to maximize the efficiency of the Repair Center, Test Center and machining area.
