I had a three month membership and quite a bit of tanning at the gym in Monee. I was promised multiple times that I would get a full refund for the remaining of the two after the gym decided to close its Monee location at the end of May. I have been calling the Diamond location, where apparently where the owner likes to hangout, as well as the location in Manhattan. Most of the workers have been very nice and try to help but say that the owner of the gyms will not get into contact with them. I have emailed the owner twice as well, just asking about the closing gym and when refunds will be issued but have not gotten an answer to either of them. Now, this gym is clearly at fault for breaking the contract and any good business would be on top of those refunds to make sure their members are happy but clearly that is not the case and I am pretty convinced that my money has been stolen from me and it is very unlikely that I will get it back. Watch out for this business and the owner (Scott Sypolt) who likes to hide back and have fun with other people's money. I can assure you that I will NEVER do business with this gym ever again and I will do everything in my power to deter people from this manipulative money trap.
This is a really nice gym. I've never had a problem with it being too hot, so they must have fixed it. All of the equipment is in good condition, and sanitary stuff is available to clean the equipment after you use it, so it's always very clean. It never smells like a stinky, sweaty gym. The bathrooms are nice, always clean, with lotion and showers. The building is very open, and although the ellipticals re close together, they aren't any closer than I have seen in other gyms. They have the individual t.v.'s on top of the ellipticals. I like to come in during the hawks game because I stay on the elliptical to watch it! Overall, it's a very good gym and I enjoy coming here, and highly recommend it to anyone.
The gym is large and has adequate equipment, but every time I go to workout the temperature inside is crazy hot. I went the other day (early A.M.) and the thermostat read 78 degrees. There were signs posted stating they had the AC running (78 with AC running?? I can’t imagine how hot it will be once summer hits!) This is an okay indoor temperature if you are going to sit around and do nothing. After I mentioned to them it was too hot they temporarily addressed the problem, but a few days later it was right back to the same hot temperatures. There are no fans running, the treadmills are crammed together too closely, and they face the East wall windows so the morning sun blinds you and adds more heat to the stuffy room. Because of the heat, I can’t fully exercise there so it’s not worth having a membership there.
