Committee on Special Education is a division of the Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District. The district s schools offer supports for students within regular education, such as psychological services, speech and language improvement services, academic intervention services, and curriculum and instructional modifications. Testing is done to assist the school team in addressing a child s needs. Requests for informal testing and screening are handled by school principals and the instructional support teams. A referral or written statement is submitted asking for the school district to evaluate children to determine whether the services are needed. The written statement is addressed to the chairperson of the school district s committee or school principal. The Committee on Special Education is located in Clifton Springs, N.Y.
