Mayfield Elementary School offers a range of educational programs to more than 350 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its syllabus includes mathematics, science, English, social studies, language arts and music. The school maintains a cafeteria, as well as a library and media center that stocks books and periodicals. It also employs a custodian, interventionists and reading specialists. The school operates a parent-teacher organization that conducts several fundraising events and programs. In addition, it administers the English Language Learners program. The school organizes a variety of events, including Thanksgiving luncheons and field trips. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
