- Chiropractic AdjustmentsSome patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover it can take weeks, or maybe months. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your body. Every patient recovers at their own pace. Factors which can affect the healing process include your age, your overall health condition, muscle tone, diet and even your attitude. Overall, most patients who have been in pain and have never received Chiropractic adjustments feel better between six to twelve visits.
- Spinal AdjustmentsChiropractic works because you are a self-healing, self-regulating organism controlled by your nervous system. Millions of instructions flow from your brain, down the spinal cord, and out to every organ and tissue. Signals sent back to the brain confirm if your body is working right. Improper motion or position of the moving bones of the spine called a "subluxation" can interfere with this vital exchange by irritating nerves and compromising the function of affected organs and tissues. Specific spinal adjustments can help improve mind/body communications. Health often returns with improved nervous system control of the body.
- SubluxationThis adjustment first determines whether the subluxation is of the lower spine or cervical by performing a very accurate leg check. Using a Thompson Terminal point table, which is specifically designed for this technique, a special weighing mechanism in the table instantly weighs the patient and adds only enough tension to hold the patient in the "up" position before any thrust. This is a very accurate direct adjustment that does not inflame the soft tissue. This technique can be used by all patients including those who are pregnant.
- Manipulation TherapyManual manipulation of the spine and other joints in the body have been around for a long time. Ancient writings from China and Greece dating between 2700 B.C. and 1500 B.C. mention spinal manipulation and the maneuvering of the lower extremities to ease low back pain. In fact, Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician who lived from 460 to 357 B.C., published a text detailing the importance of manual manipulation. In one of his writings he declares, "Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases". Evidence of manual manipulation of the body has been found among the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Babylon, Syria, Japan, the Incas, Mayans and Native Americans.
