We are a personal training company that combines the principles of Resistance Training, Pilates and Functional Training to create integrated, personalized programs of Progressive Transformation. At Transformation Fitness we believe that physical change begins in the mind: Imagine your ideal physical state, believe it can be achieved, and, with a systematic program of progressive transformation designed by a qualified trainer with your goals in mind, it will be. A training program with Transformation Fitness is a pact of mutual responsibility: the trainer’s responsibility is to design the program, to provide the knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and vision to implement it, and to provide the client with the encouragement to adhere to the program till results are achieved; the client’s responsibilities are to put forth maximum effort, to be unwavering in commitment, and unrelenting in pursuit of the goal. PROGRAM DESIGN At Transformation Fitness we keep the personal in personal training. Your program will be designed to match your abilities, your limitations and your aspirations. The Transformation Fitness training approach encompasses all aspects of fitness, including resistance training with free weights and machines, to develop lean muscle mass, strength and endurance; cardio training to improve your oxygen utilization, increase your metabolism and improve your fat-burning capacity; flexibility training to increase range of motion around the joints and to relieve tension; core strengthening through Pilates mat and other floor work. It may include Pilates Reformer work, when available; TRX suspension training, a unique system of core strengthening utilizing suspended body weight; balance, stability and agility training utilizing the bosu ball, the stability ball, the bongo board, the agility ladder and other devices; plyometrics and sport-specific training. It may also include computerized nutrition analysis to determine optimum caloric consumption and composition, and diet recommendations leading to weight loss or gain and sound nutritional health. FITNESS ASSESSMENT A Transformation Fitness training program begins with a fitness assessment to establish a base. Tested are muscular strength and endurance, oxygen utilization, flexibility, muscle imbalances, body fat and circumference. Depending upon test results, and the goals of the client, a program is designed to improve targeted fitness parameters. IN-HOME TRAINING Have gym, will travel! Not comfortable in a commercial gym? Don’t like the loud music, the frenzied activity, the bright lights, the grunting and the sweating, the posturing and aggressiveness? We come to you and will train you in the comfort and convenience of your home. We will bring the balls, the bands, the benches, the dumbbells, the mats, the enthusiasm and the expertise to insure that a program that meets your fitness goals is delivered to your doorstep. SENIOR FITNESS Perhaps you’ve reached the age of 40, 50, 60, 70 and beyond and are entering the world of fitness for the first time, straight from a sedentary lifestyle, or perhaps are returning to it after a period of inactivity. Perhaps you are concerned about performing well the activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as hoisting your grandchildren, or those bags of groceries, or climbing the stairs or washing the car or tending the garden. Recommended Reading Or you are an older adult with some fitness history looking for motivation to ramp up your current program and to maintain your competitiveness in a given sport. At Transformation Fitness a gradual approach is emphasized to accommodate the limitations caused by injury, illness and medication. Senior clients of Transformation Fitness are encouraged to put forth their best effort in pursuit of their fitness goals, and are assured they will reach them in a safe and systematic way.
