Staff was rude and ignorant. Started storing about 2 months ago and the staff seems to find reasons to charge extra charges. I called two days before storage was due and they informed me that I could drop my payment in the drop box as long as it was before 8 pm. I got there at 7:30 and they were closed. I made the drive once again, the next day, and asked if they could remove the charge because they had misinformed me. They argued that I misheard (as if I didn't know what I was hearing), and they didn't remove the late fee. I paid on time the next month and forgot about the late fee and they charged another late fee and locked my storage unit and added several fees. All of this right before Christmas. Now I have 100+ dollars to pay before my unit is unlocked, only a week before Christmas. Bah humbug, they say. Avoid this place like it's a plague.
Store-A-Lot, Red Dot, and Assured are all much more professional, and willing to work with your needs. Take special notice Fort Campbell soldiers: Wickham will not tolerate a past due balance, they offer no convenient methods of payment (online, over the phone, etc.), without attaching fees that is. So if you are out of town for an extended period of time, and you don't have direct drafting set up with your bank, and you don't mail them a check through snail mail on time, they will start sending you notices that they are going to auction your unit off, and charging ludicrous legal fees (on top of the legitimate late fee, mind you). At least, this was my experience. The hostile staff seemed to be under the impression that their customers are trying to cheat them. I had a storage unit with Wickham for over 5 years, but they treated me like a stranger off the street the second I had a past due balance with them. Don't use Wickham, take your business to one of the many better storage sites in Clarksville, you'll be glad you did.
Went to pick up our Penske rental today and had the best customer service experience. Marco at Wickham Self Storage was so friendly and pleasant, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. He really went out of his way to make sure we knew what we were doing and greatly accommodated our time schedule. Couldn't say enough nice things about Marco, Penske's prices or the quality of service we received. We have no idea how U-Haul is still in business!
