The Thurmond Lake Office & Visitor Center offers a range of water safety programs. The center also conducts routine power plant tours for schools, civic organizations, scouts and other similar groups. It issues annual passes for various recreational areas. The Thurmond Lake Office & Visitor Center provides a variety of brochures, maps and displays that feature information on the Thurmond Lake in South Carolina. The center is administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is one of the largest, public engineering, design and construction management agencies in the world. The agency serves customers in more than 90 countries. It cleans sites contaminated with hazardous, toxic and radioactive waste materials.
