It's been 5 years, without my prior knowledge or permission, he subcontracted my job to an elderly husband-wife "team" because he was overbooked. They did an OK, basic job. He did not actually KNOW them really well, or at least I got that impression. Basically, strangers in my home, brought in by another stranger! They did not do my banister which was part of the job bid. I had to bug him several times to come back and do it. Initially, it looked nice, but within a short time, it started to bubble and is now a peeled mess. I wanted color in my living room; he pushed for plain jane eggshell; said it would be a bad idea to have color. Several neighbors now have color in their LR and it looks great. He showed pages of local reference addresses. However, I never actually SPOKE to any of them. I figured that many references in my neighborhood much be good. He underbid, which was the primary seller for me. Now I know why. Certainly wasn't great or outstanding, it was OK. Bannister is bad.
