• X-rays
  For years, dental x-rays have been used to diagnose oral health complications and detect decaying or damaged teeth. X-rays provide a unique view of the mouth that isn’t possible with a visual exam alone. When x-rays are taken, the teeth and bones absorb the majority of the ray, making them highly visible on film or on a screen. Nearly all new dental patients are x-rayed, although you may instead request that previous x-rays be transferred from another dental provider to your new dentist. By comparing your x-rays with your full mouth examination and dental history, your dentist can prescribe effective treatment and recommend a plan for preventative care.
• Oral Cancer Screening
  All of our patients that are under the Continuing Care Program will receive a periodic oral exam to prevent any cavities and periodontal disease from Dr. Han. We also offer digital X-rays along which offer minimal radiation as part of this program. Our gentle and friendly hygienist will clean your teeth during a thorough, one-hour cleaning, we measure your gums to identify any gum disease, and polish your teeth for a bright and smooth smile. During your visit, our hygienist will go over instructions for ideal flossing and brush. It will help you to practice good at-home care until your next visit. Oral cancer screening and florid treatments are also offered as part of the Continuing Care Program in our office.

Preventive

• Teeth Cleaning
  Professional dental cleanings help remove built-up plaque that is not removable using conventional brushing and flossing. Often, dentists are also capable of identifying potential problems that patients are not yet able to see or feel. When you maintain regular preventative dental appointments, you can stave off decay and gum disease, as well as identify the beginnings of oral health problems before they become severe.

Because he always uses advanced dental techniques, he rarely adjusts inlays, onlays or crowns in the mouth. He always uses an earbow procedure to relate an upper jaw to jaw joints and an articulator to fabricate well-fitting restorations. The benefits to patients are comfort, durability, pleasing esthetics, and a natural feel. The recovery feels like your own tooth.
• Bridges
  Bridges are removable dental prosthetics that are attached to nearby teeth to replace one or more missing teeth. Prosthetic teeth look, feel, and function just like real teeth. Bridges eliminate gaps that can cause your remaining natural teeth to shift. Dr. Han uses the C.E.O. approach to preserve your ability to eat and speak naturally. He rarely adjusts fixed bridges, allowing you comfort, durability, and pleasing aesthetics.

• Root Canal Treatment

  If the pockets do not heal after scaling and root planning, periodontal surgery may be needed to reduce pocket depths, making teeth easier to clean. Dr. Han will refer you to a Periodontist (a specialist of the gums and supporting bone).
• Deep Cleaning
  Untreated gingivitis can progress into the early to moderate stages of gum disease (mild to moderate periodontitis) where the patient cannot adequately remove plaque in the pockets of his teeth. The treatment for this is more involved; the hygienist will perform deep cleaning (scaling and root planning) under local anesthesia. The hygienist will remove the plaque and tartar both above and mostly below the gum line, and smoothen the rough spots on root surfaces. This procedure helps gum tissue to heal and pockets to shrink.

Prosthodontics

• Dentures
  Dentures are an effective and affordable way of replacing missing teeth. Composed of a durable plastic resin and sometimes porcelain, both partial and full dentures can be fabricated to look and feel natural.
• Overdentures
  There are three types of dentures: complete, partial and over. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some of the teeth are missing. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting. An overdenture is similar to a complete denture but is supported by a few remaining teeth. Because it is supported by teeth, you can exert more chewing force on it than a complete denture, and it is more comfortable.
