Best bang for your buck...I just came back from Bernie's after enjoying a Sunday lunch. My daughters first time here was memorable when she saw the size of the meals we ordered and the reasonAble prices. We sat in the train which is an experience in itself, wait-staff was topnotch, friendly, short wait on a Sunday but you can call ahead to reserve a seat in the train. Tell them you want the fancy car!

Hostess very rude, service was very slow to start, whole place needs a really good cleaning. Food potions are very large and not very tasty. They can't seat more than six to a table so if you have a larger party you will be put at two separate tables and they will still not seat you until the entire party arrives so you have to stand in a crowd in a very small dirty entry...

Food is superb. You get a lot of food!! enough for your meal and then enough to take home for another meal! Excellent portions for price. Good selection for all your family from chicken, surf n turf to turkey to lasagna (my favorite!). Nice atmosphere too. We try to get there early if we go on a Saturday between 3 and 5 that way we beat the crowd. We like to sit up in the "train". If your in the Chicopee area it is worth the try very well worth your money, good food for your money, pleasant attentive staff. Highly reccomnend.

One of the Best!

Went with 3 other friends who had been before. New to me and I was extremely pleased. Bring your appetite and if you like prime rib be prepared. Three sizes with the largest being "HUGE"! Great old time train cars and great staff make for a time you won't forget.

I've been there many times, and iI have to say I have never been disappointed. The portions are off the wall huge, and the food is excellent. The prices cant be beat as well for the portions you get. This is an A++++ place to be.

A local favorite of mine

This restaurant is by far one of my favorite places to be. For starters, their portions are outrageous as most people leave with a doggy bag. My favorite choice, the Baked Stuffed Scrod comes complete with sides and it literally has to be about the size of a 12 inch ruler. My father is a huge fan of their Prime Rib Au Jus. It comes in three different sizes and I know a king would be happy to dine on this entree. The train cart is the area heavily used. How often can you go out to eat and feel like you are riding in a train? Please, I urge you all to try this great place out!

Bernies is noted for it atsmosphere...and its portions...the prime rib is the best around...conductors cut of prime rib is a fred flinstone slab of meat...you walk out with a doggie bag everytime...make reservations to be seated on the train dining car...you will go back again and again...prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get...

Excellent portions, pricing and atmosphere. I highly recommend Bernies to anyone and everyone!

If you like prime rib, this is the place to go. The portions are more than generous. They ask you to leave room for their fantastic desserts, but it is hard to put your fork down. Any meal you order, you will be satisfied with. Almost always some left to take home.
