Founded in 1917, World Book provides research materials for children and adults. It produces encyclopedias, reference sources and digital products. Its publications include the World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia, Animals of the World, World Book's Science & Nature Guides, Student Discovery Science Encyclopedia and Human Body Works. It also operates a classroom research project that provides information on student interests. Its online reference center serves as a general encyclopedia for schools and libraries. It includes more than 26,000 articles and over 12,000 pictures and maps. It also offers more than 7,000 links to editor-approved Web sites. Located in Chicago, World Book is a Scott Fetzer Company, which is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.
