Howard Brown Health Center, located in Chicago, is an organization that meets the health care needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. It has multisite operations and is staffed by a team of experienced and licensed doctors, nurses, research professionals, counselors and community leaders. Founded in 1974, it was formed to provide testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases within the gay community. The agency offers a wide variety of health care and wellness programs, including clinical, educational, social service and research activities. Howard Brown Health Center also partners with other community-based organizations serving and contributing to the communities.
