I called on a Thursday, the rep gave me a cost estimate of $90/hr plus parts. I scheduled the repair for Saturday morning. Jimmy, the repair guy, showed up on time. He asked me a few questions then gave me the 'news'. I needed a new garage door. I had a crack between the top two panels. He gave me a quote for a temporary repair and a replacement. I went with the repair and it was exactly what was quoted by the sales rep over the phone. Jimmy did a great job, re-supporting the door. He went above and beyond my expectation by pointing out issues that I had not disclosed to him. He put a cap on the bottom of the left track to keep the door from sliding off-track. He also adjusted the door opener and gave me a bunch of information on adjusting the pressure, the travel and maintenance. I'm satisfied and will call them for future service.

I'm posting this review so the reader can learn from my mistake!! I wanted a new storm door - didn't need one. Had the estimator come out and was told I need a new door frame for some minor damage where the screws pulled out on the opening mechanism. I knew this wasn't true as I had had others quote the job, and I had made the same repair myself on another storm door. Had I not known that fact and trusted "the Better Doors expert", the job would've been more that twice the cost for the door and new frame. The door they carried was a heavier door and made in the USA. So because of the American-made product, I went against my better judgment and hired them anyway. BIG MISTAKE!! Now I'm on my third adjustment and I paid twice what I would've paid to Loew's. Very sorry I ever used A Better Door. With this last snowstorm, I had 6 inches of snow between my storm door and my inside door. Before that I had a leak. With my old door I never had a leak or got snow behind the storm door.

I called these people to come out and repair an Anderson patio door ( they are the local distributor for Anderson Windows and Doors ). They sent out their ' estimator ' who looked at the door and said he would call back in 24-48 hours to setup the repair date. He never called back. So I had to call them. I was told it would take FOUR WEEKS to get a serviceman out. OK, Fine, I needed the door fixed. He comes out, opens the door once or twice, and then adjusts the hinges with a hex key - it took him all of 3 minutes. Then he gave me a bill for $170!!!! For adjusting a hex screw!! They could have told me this up-front if they were HONEST - which they are not - and then, if that didn't work, send out a repairman. But instead, they took advantage of me so they could screw me out of $170.00. If you use them, I am quite certain you will have the same result - you will be treated dishonestly and overcharged for ANY small repair. Take my advice and do NOT use these people - they are DISHONEST
