Don't pay them! Your loan was already written off. They will collect your money, but it doesn't mean anything. It doesn't help your credit at all. It goes straight to them. It can be sold again to someone else and start all over again! The fact that they can send a letter to any company and garnish your wages just because your name is in some database should be against the law. I never had a student loan, but they have my name & ssn. Time for a lawsuit! This shouldn't be legal and needs to be stopped!

What these people do is get your credit card number to draft your account every month. If they cant get it to go through their bank, they bypass it. This has happened to me 3 times and one person blames your bank and the next tells you their credit card machine was down. So what they do is keep you in debt even after you've agreed to pay. This also affects your credit and ability to get the debt cleared up; The way they operate is criminal but being that your the one with the debt, you don't have a leg to stand on, especially when the supervisor calls you a loser and tells you that your the one not complying with the agreement. I know their jobs must really not pay well,but if they were qualified & educated enough they wouldn't have to be working chasing people with real jobs around. The supervisor there is unqualified and has withheld paperwork for 2 months that was supposed to clear me of my debt with them...he hasn't sent it to me yet because he and I got into it.
