I have used Costco for years for my glasses. Decided to try WalMart. BIG mistake. Bad prescription to start. I wear bifocals and the Rx for the reading part was WAY too strong. Had to hold something 6 inches from my face to read it. When I prepare my food, I had to bend over and get very close to the counter for fear I'd cut myself when slicing. I am a diabetic, and Costco always dilates my eyes at every exam. WalMart did not. The glasses weren't ready when promised. They had to be sent back to be redone, before I ever saw them. The lines separating the bifocal part from the upper part of the lenses were not even, and when I pointed it out do the optician, they distorted the frames to the point that they felt like the lens was going to pop out. I also got a notice from my insurance company that they weren't going to pay. Before going in I called and spoke to the receptionist for Dr. Dupree, and was told that they would in fact be covered. I was able to return the glasses for a refund (the vision center was good about that). When I checked with Dr. Duprees receptionist, she said it would be up to the Dr. if they would refund the $75 deductible. She took my phone number and said she'd call me back after checking with the doctor. Just got off the phone. Not only are they refusing to refund my deductible (I was prepared to eat that), but they are also sending me another bill for $45. I was NOT prepared for that. All in all, a very disheartening experience. I'm already out the $75 I paid up front, and now they are going to bill me another $45. Downright ridiculous, considering the prescription was worthless to begin with. I strongly recommend NOT using WalMart.
