Dr. John Emberson has been on staff with Associates in Women’s Health since September 2005, and has successfully expanded his OB/GYN practice since then. He is licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia, seeing patients at both the Gunbarrel Road and Battlefield Parkway Offices. He was born in Ringgold, Georgia and presently resides in Chattanooga. Dr Emberson obtained his B.S. in Agriculture in 1971 and was a Extension Agent with the University of Georgia and a self employed Farmer and Contractor when he decided to become a medical doctor. He attended the Medical College of Georgia from 1993-1997, and served his internship and residency in OB/GYN from July 1997 to June 2001 with Erlanger Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident from July 2000 to June 2001. He received his American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology Certification in January, 2005. Dr. Emberson also served as a Medical Missionary in OB/GYN from 2002 to 2004 in Tansen, Nepal, at the Tansen UMN Mission Hospital, associated with the General Board of Global Ministries and United Mission to Nepal. These experiences have truly contributed to the compassion he shows to his loyal patients.
