I can't believe HotCakes is in Charlottesville - I would have guessed New York or Paris. They have great quality food both to-go and to eat in their very nice cafe. Better quality than 99% of the expensive full-service restaurants and the some of the best desserts I've ever had. Even the sandwiches are exceptional. The wine selection is pretty good, but even better is that wine is sold at normal retail price without restaurant markup. If you have good taste in food, definitely should be high on your list.
