      My family has a tradition of visiting an apple orchard each fall, and this gorgeous mountain top orchard in Charlottesville, Virginia may just be my favorite. You can pick your own apples and buy pumpkins, and then take a hay ride while enjoying amazing views. The apple cider is really, really good, and Aunt Sarah's Bakery offers home-made apple cider donuts, apple pies, apple caramel cookies, hand-dipped ice cream, and delicious lunch foods in the Mountain Grill. Dogs are allowed in the orchards too! We took our golden retriever when she was just a pup. I definitely recommend this place! Well worth planning a weekend trip around.
