Avery's is the quintessential small-town General Store, with everything from apples and cheese to snowshovels, winter woolen socks, and zorries (flip-flops). The people are smart, kind, hard-working and friendly. I have never been disappointed by them (oh, okay, when they got rid of the huge brass cash register and got computerized I was a bit let-down . . .). This family-run business has the best and freshest meats, knowledgeable folk to help you find the right hardware for your weekend repair project, and good, sensible, reasonably-priced clothes to get you through your week. Closed on Sunday and no extra-long days, but always worth a stop in to see what is happening.
