MTD Southwest is a manufacturer of outdoor power equipment with a facility in Tempe, Ariz. It is part of the MTD Products family of manufacturing companies. Based outside of Cleveland in Valley City, Ohio, MTD produces equipment for residential and commercial markets. Its companies include Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Yard-Man, Yard Machines, Bolens, McCulloch and White Outdoor. The Cub Cadet Commercial brand is targeted to the commercial industry's needs. MTD products can be found in all channels of distribution such as home improvement stores, mass retailers, hardware, independent dealers and farm supply stores and are sold throughout the world. Founded in 1932, MTD produced its first lawnmower in 1958. Among its various brands, the company makes a variety of lawn mowing, gardening and landscaping products, including chain saws, riding and walk-behind lawn mowers, mulchers, tillers and professional-grade products.
