Our house was built in the 1980s and had an air conditioning unit refurbished from the 70s. We decided to have it replaced in 2007. I wish we had stayed with the unit from the 70s since the unit put in by Hendel's has been nothing but a nightmare. We are still calling out service men to repair the unit. Each summer, it has shut down and needed service 3 times. Finally, last summer, the problem was realized - faulty installation. Basically, we have a swamp cooler and an air conditioner. The way they installed the unit was not compatible with the swamp cooler so hot air got in from the roof and the unit was trying to cool the air above the roof as well as our house, overworking the unit. After a BBB complaint and many phone calls, Hendel's finally agreed to fix the problem by installing a damper free of charge over 2 years later. I finally thought they were being honest and fixing the problem. Well they installed the damper wrong and have no record of it so we do not know what they did. Nothing works - either the air conditioner or the swamp cooler and now again, we will have to call out someone to repair the unit. Between repair bills and energy bills, we have spent over $2000 on top of what we paid Hendel's. I have never been more appalled by a company who refuses to not only take responsibility but keeps making the problem worse. I don't know if they are just angry at us so they installed the damper incorrectly or they genuinely don't know what they are doing. Please, do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this company.

We've lived in the valley over 25 years and have always used Hendel's for HVAC for our home and rentals. They're on-time, homest and reasonably priced - That's all I want!
