From athens we fled is: mike davis. Jake burke. Justin X and josh Bullard. This phoenix based band was brought together through a string of fortuitous circumstances (that are classified to the highest regard) that lead UP to the brutal and AWE inspiring force that they are NOW. Amidst the oversaturated “CHUGGA CHUGGA” breakdown centric metal scene; from athens we fled (FAWF) is trying their best to create a comprehensive sound that showcases a blending of ALL of the Band’s respective styles. Whether It’s thrash. Death metal. GRINDCORE. Punk. Hardcore. Or METALCORE. FAWF strives to give the audience a nice escape from the aforementioned average metal band. AS FAR AS origin stories are concerned the origin of FAWF is very very…. . BORING…. OR was is EXCITING?. . . EITHER WAY. SUPER-GONORRHEA was involved. The band is made UP of 4 incredibly talented (lies!) HANDSOME(LIES!) and alluring (really?!) young MEN. Hailing from the “american heartland” mike davis: main VOCALIST/SCREAMER and the fifth member of the ninja turtles; headed west on an expedition to find something a BIT more visceral and fulfilling. AS ONE of the founding members of FAWF mike is a continual driving force that keeps the FAWF members going hard. The crashing and hammering of percussion is heralded by josh Bullard: the drumming robot sent from the future to change the lives of ONE band. PUT together with rubber bands. OLD FUNYUN bags and broken drum sticks; josh is the newest member of FAWF (although HE feels like HE’S always been there). MR. Bullard is an ever positive and optimistic little dude that came into the FAWF fray via a trek from “the land of enchantment”. Riffs. Riffs and more riffs!!!! jake burke is OUR resident lothario on the 6 strings. Another of the founding members (and the last). With a tenacious lust for success and brutality jake will never stop pushing the boys of FAWF until they reach their goal of musical domination (or masturbation ?). Lastly. Justin X “the best bastard YOU know” and bassist is responsible for keeping the unbridled power that HIS band mates create in check. And also is the thunderous backing string sound that helps bring the cataclysmic breakdowns and face melting riffs to a blood boiling and bone chilling peak. AS the faith in fictions are broken and the until the SUN dies a glorious death. FAWF will move on and on finding NEW ways to excite with music. And push their listeners to feel and DO more than what they think they are capable of.
