Western Kentucky Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of E.ON U.S., a diversified energy services company that is a member of the E.ON family of companies. Based in Louisville, Ky., E.ON U.S. is a diversified energy services company with businesses in power generation and project development, retail gas and electric products and utility services and asset-based energy marketing. WKE operates and leases four coal-fired plants owned by Big Rivers Electric Corporation. Combined these companies generate more than 1,700 megawatts of electricity.
