Titan Machinery in Center Point, IA is dishonest and misleading about their service shop! I went there and asked if they knew how to fix a small leak in one cylinder for a Traverse Lift. Titan Machinery said yes, they could repair it. I asked for a "ball park" price so I would know what to expect. They said that it should cost around $200. I said that would be fine and I let them repair it. When I came back to pick up the cylinder, they gave me a bill for $912!



I asked how did the bill get to $900 when you gave me a ball park of $200. They said, "Well, it is a big cylinder." The receipt said it took them 5.1 hours to fix the part at $99.00 per hour in labor cost! They charged $505 in labor to repair the part and did not have anything to say nor did they want to do anything to reconcile their poor judgment in their own estimate to fix one cylinder.



I live in Center Point and believe in supporting local businesses, as I am a business owner myself., but it is very poor business practice to give someone a price and then turn around and charge then 4.5 times more without even giving them a call! If I treated my customers like that, I would be out of business.



I will NEVER go back to Titan Machinery, and neither should anyone else unless you have money you don't really need! (I gave them 1 star because this review would not let me give zero - This business deserves a ZERO).
