CA Industries is the non-profit business arm of the Mercer County Board of Mental Retardation & Development Disabilities. CA Industries was incorporated in 1972 with a mission to provide expanded employment opportunities for Mercer county resident affected with a wide variety of disabilities. CA Industries employs most people in its workshop, which performs a number of services for local companies. CA Industries employees also work in local companies in the form of mobile work crews of enclaves. In 1999, CA Industries released its own Shelby the Unique Sheep. Shelby is a plush beanbag toy that comes complete with a story tape about a green sheep that learn that sometimes it s great to be different. In 2000, the company released the Speedy Glide wooden scooter for small children. CA Industries is located in Celina, Ohio.
