General Info
Hi, my name is Nate Sherwood. I was a professional skateboarder for over 10 years and I've continued to work in the skate industry since I retired. I have been a writer fo Transworld Magazine, an independent film maker and worked in countless other facets in the world of skateboarding. There is no question that is too esoteric, no product I cannot tell you the pros and cons of and no genre in skating I have not mastered. My dream was to retire and be my own boss with my lady Lindsey. All I wanted to do was to open a shop in an environment that was not over saturSKATEed with other shops. My goal is to make sure that skating will never die in Cedar Rapids, That means going to council meetings to make sure that parks and rec does not forget us skaters in future plans, hosting local contests and demos as well as events to keep skateboarding in the public eye of Cedar Rapids. Eduskate does screen printing... but not very well.
For at least a few years, I know Eduskate has been trying to get into the screen printing business. I've had them do a couple of small orders in the past couple of years.
I recently (Feb 2018) made and order to get printing done on some items. Lindsey (the owner), informed me that they were backed up and it'd take a month to complete... that's cool, I can wait -- no worries. I contacted her five weeks later and she told me that she was "hoping" to have everything done by the upcoming Friday. I called her today (Tuesday after the Fri) and she said "oops, didn't you get my email"... basically she undercharged us by $200 and wanted me to pay the difference in order for her to start on the order.
I told her that the only reason I chose to work with Eduskate is because of the pricing she quoted us. (Also, it has been over a month since I started the order, and I'm just now hearing about this error that she made?) She said, "Well, we can just cancel the order instead if you like." I told her, no, just get the order done - I need the clothing. I've had to organize an entire team's worth of apparel and collect money from multiple individuals to make this order come together. I'm not happy and this has been a pain.
I get back from lunch to find an email from Lindsey that states "I’m sorry my mistake has caused you so much anger and stress. I’ve decided it would be better to just refund your payment so you can proceed with another printer."
So not only, did she screw up, she's now abandoning us as a customer. I would not recommend anyone to work with Eduskate -- ever. Eduskate is a miserable joke of a screen printing company.
