General Info

The Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is a private nonprofit corporation governed by the volunteer Board of Directors. Formed in 1962, ASAC is one of the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive substance abuse prevention and treatment agencies in the state of Iowa. Although we serve clients from throughout Iowa, we primarily serve the five counties of Linn, Benton, Jones, Jackson, and Clinton.

ASAC treatment services follow the continuum of care beginning with prevention and intervention and moving through various levels of care. Our treatment services included assessment, extended outpatient, intensive outpatient, day treatment, residential, halfway house, and aftercare.
