I really appreciated the thoroughness and professionalism we received. We purchased a house with a wood burning fireplace in it. Not knowing when it was last serviced, we thought we should have it cleaned & inspected. Turns out some pieces needed replacing in order to put it in safe operating condition. The reasons why those items needed to be replaced were thoroughly explained to us, and pictures were provided of past jobs with similar repair items so we could visually see the before/after. We felt very comfortable asking questions on anything we didn't understand.
Great service and love having same people each time. I am very sad about the hours. Thank you for accommodating me but I do not want to take advantage. If there is any way to have later hours and Saturday hours to accommodate the 8-4 people I appreciate it thank you to all
2nd Generation first serviced my fireplace in 2011 and I was very impressed. I phoned again for servicing in 2017 and was very pleased to see the same Technician at my door. Troy is extremely thorough and very professional. The pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend this company, and wouldn't remotely consider calling another.

I researched multiple companies to address my chimney and fireplace. 2nd Generation Chimneys is by far the better option. Tyler and Matthias were knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. The scheduler was understanding when she had to work around my unusual schedule. The rest of the team was patient and friendly when answering all of my questions. I'm very appreciative of the customer service at 2nd Generation.

2nd Generation Chimneys arrived at the time they said they would. They removed ash from our chimney and bricked up hole. The masonry looks sound and in keeping with the aesthetics of the house. They cleaned the area and their price was in line with our expectation. It took at acceptable amount of time, in line with how long they said it would take. In short, 2nd Generation performed exactly as we expected and they said they would- rare in a world of "we'll be there between 11-3 and it will cost twice to ten times what we originally told you.""

Tyler was prompt, explained what he was going to do, showed me how to use the new flue, and let me know how the repair will save in energy costs. All appreciated.
Troy was very polite and educational - he showed me exactly what my chimney looked like and showed me where (if any) problems were likely to occur.

Matthias was right on time for the service appointment, explained what he was going to do and got right to work. He left no mess when he finished his work and answered the remaining questions I had.
I have to say I had reservations about having my chimney cleaned, however my rep had answered every question and not only that but explained"why" . Not just a yes or no. He definintatly. Knew what he was talking about. He also seemed to really enjoy his job and I'm seeing less and less of that. Very polite. Clean, prompt and informative. Carefull 2nd Generation, someone else just might sweep him up. No pun intended.

The chimney inspector showed up right on time, took all the time I needed to understand the issues and was very courteous.
We have now had work done by this company twice...first, cleaning our chimney and then the repair of the chimney. We were so pleased with the outcomes of both projects. They gave us pictures of the before and afters, took all the time needed to do an excellent job...were not messy while they worked...were courteous and professional. We cannot think of anything to criticize. Good people to work with and a fair price for the work. And isn't that what we all hope for when we have work done? A very good company!
