We specialize in social ballroom and competitive dances, including Cha Cha, Bolero, Swing, Mambo, Paso Doble, Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, Quick Step, Viennese Waltz, Merengue, Salsa, Rumba, and Samba. Students learn through a variety of instructional programs with private lessons for singles and couples, groups classes, and practice parties with a focus on one-on-one dance instruction. i.Two years ago my wife and I started our journey of ballroom dance at Fred Astaire Upper Montclair. From the first night we were met with smiles, encouragement and a feeling that we belonged to this group of people who seemed to be perpetually happy. The studio is a place of music and laughter, a place of good times and a place of physical challenge. After only a short time I found that ballroom dance provides me with a vehicle for expression that I have only dreamt about. As an introvert the thought of dancing in front of others was out of the question but the professional instructors helped me navigate in and out of the layers of what I call my comfort zone. Throughout this ongoing journey I have been challenged, frustrated, enlightened, had sleepless nights, laughed and smiled. I am and will always be learning to dance but something else is happening along the way, something completely serendipitous. I have become a different person...I have grown physically, mentally an
