Georgia School for the Deaf, established in 1846, is a state-funded residential school. It provides educational programs for hearing impaired and multi handicapped hearing impaired students. Georgia School for the Deaf serves students from preschool through high school. In addition, it provides a state-wide, home-based, early intervention program that serves infants up to five years. The school also offers a comprehensive diagnostic and evaluation center. It provides training and technical assistance to parents, public school programs, community groups, and other agencies on a regional and statewide basis. It offers computer training programs and various recreational and leisure activities to students. The school also provides library, art and physical education to its students. Georgia School for the Deaf is located in Cave Spring, Ga.
